Toronto, Canada

Mark your calendars for Saturday February 20, 2016 as World IA Day comes to the City of Toronto.

World IA Day is an annual celebration of the field of Information Architecture. This year over 70 host cities are participating, from Bari, Italy to Bangalore, India. This event is open to anyone and everyone working in – or interested in – the field of Information Architecture.

For 2016 your hosts in Toronto are Normative, a design and innovation firm with a deep history and passion for information architecture. As this year’s theme for World IA Day is “Information Everywhere, Architects Everywhere”, we’re looking to share our passion and enthusiasm for information architecture with the Toronto web and software community!

We have a great line-up of local speakers who will expand your perspectives on where information architecture and user experience are headed:

  • 7:00 - Shannah Segal: Principal at Usability Matters: Talk
  • 7:20 - Ilona Posner: Senior Manager, User Experience Research at Rogers - Keyhole Impact for IA, UX and Beyond!
  • 7:40 - Lindsay Ellerby: Senior Design Director at Normative

Following our speakers, we’re going to get social with a serious party! We know from experience that information architects and their friends love to have fun. This means we’ll have a DJ, karaoke and some special guests, along with an open bar and lots of tasty snacks! This will be the Toronto UX social event of the year, and a great place to make new connections and new friends!

Doors open at 6:00 pm, with the speakers starting at 7:00 pm. Once the speakers wrap up around 8:00 pm, we’ll open the bar and get the party started!

If you’re an IA, care about user experience, or just love the web and software, we’d love to see you join us. Tickets will be limited, so don’t delay - join us on the 20th for World IA Day!

Normative is located at 91 Oxford St, Toronto. World IA Day will be hosted in our 3rd floor event space.
